Meet Dr Emma Skerman

Emma graduated from the Griffith University School of Dentistry with First Class Honours. Upon graduation, she was one of only 50 dentists Australia-wide to be offered a yearlong internship by the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. During her internship, Emma worked as a general dentist in the public dental system and received intense mentorship from multiple specialists and senior dentists.

Providing Care in the Public & Private Sector
After her internship, Emma was offered a permanent position with Queensland Health working at the new Gold Coast University Hospital. There, Emma provided dental services for many medically compromised hospital patients, especially those with cancer and oral cancer in particular. Emma worked as part of a multidisciplinary team that provided ongoing care and education to limit the dental complications arising from radiation and chemotherapy treatments for these patients.
Outside of Work
In her spare time Emma enjoys taking beach walks, doing yoga and listening to music.
